The 2012 Nokia Lumia 850 concept

In May 2012, a set of Nokia Lumia 850 concept designs I had published online under the handle @brianmfb was picked up by the international tech press. TechCrunch ran it under the headline "A Dreamy Look At A Would-Be Nokia Lumia 850," describing the work as coming from a "Luxembourgish designer, BrianMFB."

PhoneArena covered the same concept the same day, and Concept-Phones had run it a few days earlier — under the headline "Nokia Lumia 850 Design Comes Straight Out of Luxembourg." That last piece matters most for the record: it names both Brian Bovi and the @brianmfb handle in the same sentence, making it the public bridge between the pseudonym and my name.

I was a teenager at the time. Long before I built AI systems, I designed phones — and one of those concepts reached an audience of millions.
